Mohawk MountainCornwall, CT · USA · Open
📖 Table of Contents🏔️ The MountainMohawk Mountain Ski Area is a classic New England ski mountain set in the Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut. IronHike rents the entire mountain for 4 days, turning it into a world-class vertical endurance venue: Base Camp, tent city, Summit Support Station, and an unrelenting slope that goes up and comes right back down.
The course follows the main Mohawk ski trail. It is well-marked and steep, about as steep as a flight of stairs that goes on for over half a mile. The lights go off after hours. Headlamp required from dusk to dawn. There is nowhere to hide on this Mountain. Every step up is earned. Every step down is yours to manage.
You will not be timed or tracked electronically. This is not a race. You summit and descend over and over again against the clock. The only scoreboard is your own Summit Token bucket at the Bell. And you will not be doing this alone: every Mountain Athlete on this course is earning the same vertical, one lap at a time.
