    Their biggest, our biggest

We have real respect for 29029 TRAIL, the three-day trail format from the team that turned Everesting into a weekend event: a mountain marathon every day for three days, with a hotel bed and a hot meal waiting each night. It is the biggest thing 29029 offers, so we put it next to ours. The Olympus Mons Ultra is 84 hours straight on one Mountain, 72,000+ feet up and every foot back down, through every night.

    29029 TRAIL

Three mountain marathons on three days: 26.2+ miles a day inside a 12-hour window, about 79 miles in all, with roughly 2,000 to 4,000 feet of climbing a day. Aid stations about every 5 miles, with hotel nights and food included. 2027 events at Stowe, Vermont and Lake Tahoe, from $6,895.

    IronHike Olympus Mons Ultra

IronHike’s hardest Event: 72,000+ feet of gain and the same back down in 84 hours, on 1.25 to 1.5 mile laps at Mohawk Mountain or on the Amicalola Falls staircase, with no flat miles. Open registration, three Series a year. Three finishers, ever. Veteran-owned and operated.

    The honest assessment

IronHike is better on 12, TRAIL on 3, and 5 are a tie. TRAIL wins on comfort and scenery: a hotel bed every night, meals included, and big mountain trails at Tahoe and Stowe. IronHike wins on the Mountain: about six times the climbing, about twice the miles, 84 hours straight through every night, three Series a year, and teams.

We want to see you on our Mountain too!

TRAIL proves you can stack mountain miles day after day. If you have earned the 3×3, the Olympus Mons Ultra is the next step: no hotel between days, just 84 hours, 72,000+ feet up and down, and a finishers club of three.

Add it to your plans and see what happens when the Mountain never lets you check in for the night.

It’s you versus the whole mountain (up and down) and you against who you were yesterday.
